Fifa and Sepp Blatter still have a long way to go, says Hugh Robertson
Fifa Fifa has long way to go, says Robertson The sports minister, Hugh Robertson, has said any move by Fifa to release controversial documents relating to $100m bribery allegations would be a "welcome first sign" of greater transparency from football's world body. But he warned that the credibility of Fifa's president, Sepp Blatter, is "on the line" ahead of its pivotal executive committee meeting on Thursday and that the organisation has a long way to go to root out corruption and reform itself. "I would welcome the release of the documents. Fifa's credibility in general is very much on the line over all this and Sepp Blatter's credibility in particular is on the line," Robertson said. "This would be a welcome first sign of openness and transparency. But there is a lot further to go and what they need is widespread reform of the system." Owen Gibson Bristol City Derek McInnes is the club's new manager. The 40-year-old joins the club from St Johnstone and has signed a contract until the summer of 2014. The Saints will collect compensation reported to be in the region of £100,000 as McInnes has taken his assistant, Tony Docherty, with him to Ashton Gate. PA
