Local and aesthetic: Frieze Projects East – in pictures
Anthea Hamilton and Nicholas Byrne, Love Hamilton and Byrne have filled Poplar Baths (which have been closed to the public since the 80s) with bright, freestanding inflatables. Not only do they play on the iconic Love sculpture by Robert Indiana, but they reference sex, popular culture and art-deco stylings (a nod to the baths themselves).
