Coachella 2012: Radiohead, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg to headline

Radiohead, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg are to headline this year's Coachella festival in California. The event takes place in the desert near Palm Springs, and for the first time will be held over two weekends in April, featuring identical lineups. Other acts on the bill include Pulp, Florence + the Machine and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, as well as a re-formed At the Drive-In and a rare live appearance from the Weeknd. The first Coachella festival, featuring Beck, the Chemical Brothers and Morrissey, took place in 1999, with about 25,000 fans visiting the two-day inaugural event. Last year, Kanye West headlined, while Mumford & Sons and a reunited Big Audio Dynamite were among the 190 acts on the bill. Other artists appearing this year include Swedish House Mafia, Arctic Monkeys, Bon Iver and La Roux, while Swedish punks Refused will play their first show in 14 years.
